Đặng Thị Thu An (born 1983 in Đồng Hới, Quảng Trị) is a Vietnamese painter whose work explores memory, emotion, and the quiet poetics of everyday life. A member of both the Thừa Thiên Huế Fine Arts Association and the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, she currently teaches at the Faculty of Art Education at Hue University of Arts, where she contributes to shaping the next generation of young artists.
An’s artistic practice has been featured in numerous exhibitions across Vietnam and abroad, with several of her works acquired by the Hue Museum of Fine Arts as well as private collectors in Vietnam and internationally. Her first solo exhibition, Giao Cảm (2013), marked the beginning of a steadily expanding career. That same year, she participated in Mekong Art 2013, where she received the Support Prize. She later exhibited at the Ho Chi Minh City Biennale of Young Artists (2019), earning a Commendation Award for her oil painting Níu, and continued to gain recognition at the 2020 Vietnam National Fine Arts Exhibition, where her work Ngũ Sắc received another Commendation Award.
Her second solo exhibition, Hương Thời Gian, was held at the Hue Museum of Fine Arts in 2022, further establishing her presence within the Central Vietnam art scene. In 2023, she received a Commendation Award at the North Central Region Fine Arts Exhibition for her painting Tuổi Thần Tiên. In 2024, she was honored with the B Prize at the 7th Cố đô Literature and Arts Awards and presented new work in the An & Huy exhibition at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum.
